Top 10 Plastic Free Products For The Kitchen

Top 10 Plastic Free Products For The Kitchen

Are you looking to make your Kitchen greener? It is easier than you think!

Going plastic free means a lot less clutter in your home which means more space in your cupboards and drawers.

Its not just better for the environment, it also is better for your health.

Many of our kitchen products are plastic and when they are hot they can leak in to our foods. It has been known to cause many different problems. As scary as that sounds, it is very easy to transform to plastic free. There are plastic free shops .

There are so many plastic free options now that suit all aesthetics, personally I like everything to kind of match in my kitchen. I am going to share with you a few products you could try switching up.

  1. Utensils

Utensils such as spatulas and spoons are made up of plastic, try swapping them for some wooden utensils.

2. Dishcloths

We all are tempted to use paper towels and throw them away, they aren’t recycled. Why not swap them for some dish cloths they are much easier to wash and look better in the kitchen to be honest. You can even get pretty coloured ones if you wanted to.

3. Reusable Containers

Using reusable containers are a must when it comes to storing food, they are so handy in the kitchen.

4. Reusuable bowl covers

Reusable bowl covers are so much better than using cling film to keep your food stored.

5. Reusable food storage bags

reusable food storage bags are fab for storing things, you can get cloth bags rather than plastic ones.

6. Wood Chopping Board

Why not swap your plastic chopping board for a real good sturdy wooden one.

7. Washing up brush

Instead of using sponges that you throw away over and over again, get a washing brush that you can reuse. Opting for natural over synthetic kitchen cleaning brushes reduces plastic waste. Not only are they more durable and last way longer than cheap plastic ones they are biodegradable too.

8. Pots and Pans

Whilst non stick pans are more convenient, they are also filled with chemicals. Grab a cast iron one it will be better and last you a lot longer.

9. Glass Spray Bottles

Instead of buying plastic spray bottles, try using a glass one which you can refill with products. 100% recyclable, reusable and refillable. Instead of repurchasing anti bacterial sprays and having tons of empty bottles to throw away. You can just refill a glass bottle over and over.

There are also Cleaning Pods that you can simply pop in to a spray bottle with 750ml and give it a shake.

10. Reusable shopping bags

Reusable shopping bags save so much plastic waste and also are a lot easier. Reusable shopping bags are more durable and less waste. Carrier bags are always cluttering up my kitchen and under my sink. I love to use reusable bags. You can even get ones that fold and fit into your handbag.

I hope these products have helped you if you are looking to go plastic free. I don’t know about you but my mind feels so much better when there is less clutter around the house. Not only can you go plastic free in your kitchen but you can apply it all over your home. My next task will be trying to go plastic free in my bathroom.

I hope you have enjoyed my top 10 plastic free products for the kitchen blog post.
