Types of Renovation

There are two main types of bathroom renovations: full and partial. A full renovation involves gutting the entire space and starting from scratch. This type of renovation is typically more expensive and time-consuming than a partial renovation, but it allows you to completely customize your bathroom to your specific needs and taste. On the other hand, a partial renovation focuses on one or two specific areas of the bathroom, such as the shower or sink area. This type of renovation is less expensive and can be completed in a shorter timeframe than a full renovation.

What to Consider Between the Two

When choosing between a full and partial renovation, it’s essential to consider your budget and timeline. If you have a limited budget, a partial renovation may be the best option for you. On the other hand, if you’re not concerned about money and you have the time to spare, a full renovation will give you the most flexibility in terms of design.

Contractor

Once you’ve decided on the type of renovation you want to do, it’s time to start planning. The first step is to find a qualified contractor who can help you bring your vision to life. When interviewing contractors, be sure to ask for references and check out their previous work.

Bathroom Design

Once you’ve found a contractor you’re comfortable with, it’s time to start working on your bathroom design. This is where things like flooring, fixtures, and finishes come into play. Be sure to choose materials that are both stylish and durable, so your renovation will last for years to come.

Traditional Not Always Bad

One thing to keep in mind when renovating a bathroom is that it’s usually best to stick with traditional materials and styles. That means ceramic tile for the floor and walls, marble or granite countertops, and basic white fixtures. Of course, you can always add your own personal touches to make the space truly yours. However, you can always change it when you find out why PVC shower wall panels are more flexible than traditional tiles and want to go with that option.

Ventilation and Lighting

If you’re doing a major renovation, it’s also essential to think about things like ventilation and lighting. Proper ventilation will help prevent mold and mildew from forming, while good lighting will make the bathroom feel more spacious.

Demolition

Once all of the planning is done, and the contractor has been chosen, it’s time to start demolition. This is usually the messiest and most chaotic part of the process, but it’s also necessary to create the new bathroom you’ve been dreaming of. After demolition is complete, the real work can begin.

This can involve a lot of work, so be prepared for some long days and sleepless nights. But at the end of the day, the hard work will be worth it when you finally get to see your new bathroom. Congratulations! You’ve just renovated your bathroom. Now go take a bath and relax.
